Benfotiamine is a form of thiamin (vitamin B1). Thiamin is an effective inhibitor of advanced glycation end-products (AGEs). It also activates an enzyme which helps the body shunt excess sugar products into a safer metabolic pathway. While thiamin is poorly absorbed by the body, benfotiamine maintains thiamin’s AGE-inhibiting benefits while being able to pass directly into cells.

DISCUSSION: Benfotiamine is a more bioavailable naturally-occurring form of thiamin (vitamin B1). Benfotiamine’s lipophilic nature provides all of the benefits of vitamin B1.*
